Post by: jtdad67 on July 13, 2007, 06:55:33 AM
Hi all, i really need help. yesterday I bought a 5 pound pork butt, I coated it with mustard and a rub (based on a recipe I found here) my question is when should I put in in my BS  and how long should I smoke. My wife and I want to have it for lunch tomorrow afternoon. Thanks

Hi jtdad

I do the same on my butts, use 2 hrs of smoke then cook it in a foil pan in the BS with half a can of broth. Mine are in for about 6 hrs or until the meat temp reads what i like in doneness  ;D

Welcome to the forum jtdad.  I would do it now.  After FTC let it cool, wrap in plastic and then fridg over night.  Smoke flavor will really penetrate then simply re-heat.  Vacuum Seal is perfect for this as you can simply drop it into boiling water to re-heat.
