Title: power cord for pid
Post by: Fair-chase on July 30, 2007, 03:42:46 PM
I ordered the auber pid and 25A SSR today along with an omega Tc for my pid control.

Where can I find a power cord with the computer style ends?

If you don't have an extra one lying around, I'd try any place that carries computer supplies: Staples, Walmart, Radioshack, Compusa, etc.

Good luck.

The ones I've seen are the computer style female end with a regular male end to plug into a wall socket.  Can you buy a cord with both male and female computer style ends?

Yes, those are available as well.

I never could find one so I improvised. I cut the cord that goes from the generator to the cabinet in half and put regular plugs on the cut ends.

I know I am a bit late to this party, but I was happy to find the cable with the male and female "computer-style" ends at Mouser.com.  Actually, if you configure a cable there, you want a C13 connector on one end and a C14 on the other.  I just got one in and it is pretty much a carbon copy of the cable between the smoke gen and the cabinet on the OBS.
