Per your suggestion Nepa we got one of those hydro gardens for the winter time.
Best little gaget I've ever had. We've been going on 6 weeks now of the first harvest and still picking. Fresh basil's, thyme, dill, parsely. Next is tomatoes and peppers. Thanks again for showing me this.

What kind of care do these things need? Is it pretty simple to use? Just plant your seeds and go? Is there anything special you need to use these?

Yeah easy to use.
They come with the plants you ordered, fertilizer tablets and some other goodies. Just pop the seed pods into the holes, fill bottom with water to the marked leval, add a fert tab, turn on and let em grow. The light adjusts up to let the plants grow taller.

Trust me begolf if I can grow things with it ANYONE can. Pop the seed pods in add water and pill turn on and forget it. Lights on a timer and warning lights come on when its time to add water or fert. pill. Wala. ;D
