Anyone tried any of the new 4 cures from Bradley?
Anyone know how many lbs 28 oz cures?
Thanks.
Good Question. I noticed them today when I entered the site. I'll look forward to hearing about them.
What I'm really interested in is the new Crown Royal Oak Bisquettes. I may go looking for them tonight on the way home from work.
Oh gee, I guess I'll have to buy a bottle of Canadian Whiskey while I'm at it. What will I ever do with that? :D ;)

Haven't yet tried them, but I should be able to answer the second question next week. I just added 2 jugs of each flavor when I placed my biscuit stock order less than 5 minutes ago.
Been wondering the same about the cures.
Are the royal crown biscuits available in the states?
Doesn't sound like it. Would be nice as I sell Crown Royal too. :D

Only certain provinces in Canada.

Bummer. So close yet so far away. :(
I'm gonna have to take advantage of being a "Canuck" and give those Royal Crown bisquettes a try.
Speaking of being a Canuck.....I just saw the Canadian dollar is now worth more than the American dollar........ $1.00 US = $1.002 CAD
That hasn't happened since the 70's......it wasn't too long ago ours was only worth $0.62 U.S.
Time to start planning my next beer travels south...... :D

Acords, Looks great....but a little too far east for me. I live in B.C.
What I am going to do is take the Mrs. to Portland Oregon on the weekend of October 20th (my 45th B-day) and catch Neil Young at Keller Auditorium. Portland Oregon is Brewtopia. There are more brewpubs in the Portland area than Canada has all together. I'm excited..... ;D
For info for anyone interested in the cures on this side of the pond, the UK distributer has some in transit for sale in the UK. They will be announced on the UK website when available, don't know how much they will be?! :)
Neil Young and Brewtopia. Doesn't get much better than that.
OK, so I went and bought a bottle of Crown yesterday. I don't drink a tonne of Rye. I'm more of a Beer guy and when I do drink hard liqour (I didn't even know her), I tend to have a Rum and Coke or the occassional scotch. So I was a little disappointed that I had to shell out for a 40 ouncer just to get the bisquettes. I guess this means I'll just have to start drinking more.
In any event, I've seen the bisquettes.
First of all, they look pretty cool. They're much darker in colour. I guess because of the whiskey soaked oak barrels.
I hadn't really thought about it at the time, but there are only 4 of them? That's kind of a short smoke, and it would be nice to do a pure Oak smoke with these rather than mixing pucks. I'm not sure what I'm going to use them for yet. 8 pucks would have been better, but I'd be checking myself into AA just for some fused sawdust. I'm not sure it's worth it.
There are two recipes on the box. One is for Crown Royal Spareribs & the other for Crown Royal Salmon. You can see there's a bit of trend here.
The recipes look OK, but I don't know who was in charge of the write up. They actually tell you to use the pucks as part of the pre-heating process for your smoker or grill. I'd imagine a lot of people will waste their pucks by firing them up before the meat's in the Q which is too bad.
And yes, they assume not everyone will have a bradley and will use the bisquettes by putting them in foil for the gas grill.
Anyways, that's what I've discovered. No idea what I'm going to use these pucks for yet. I'm open to suggestions.

Not to get off course, but if this is your first Neil Young show, you are in for quite a treat. The man just keeps churning out great music, and, in my opinion, his latest stuff is as good or better than he put out many years ago. Enjoy!!!

I've seen 4 of Neil's concerts dating back to 1984 (Shocking Pinks Tour). Best one was at the Gorge at George, Washington (yes real place) 1993. For you real fans, here is a link to Rust Radio that plays Neil Young bootleg live concerts every Friday to Sunday. http://www.rustradio.org/radio.php
Click on the music player of choice. Great stuff if your a Neil Young fan (how could you not be ;))
I saw Neil in 1984 as well. The Old Ways tour with the International Harvesters. Great show.
They played a song on that tour called Grey Riders. It was never released. Now, by the power of music downloads, 23 years later I've found it again.
Gotta Love Neil. Tonights the Night is my favourite album. What makes him great is his willingness to take risks. That Shocking Pinks has some great stuff on it. Wonderin' is such a fun song and it's hard not to laugh just thinking about the video. Even Trans had a couple of good tunes on it.
But for a truly great Neil Young song, you can't beat Thrashers.

Wonder what you could do with the oak bisquettes and your favorite bottle of bourbon? Maybe a little soak and let them dry? Hmmm. Not a big hard liquor fan but this might call for some experimenting.
