Title: Bad Ribs!
Post by: car54 on October 16, 2007, 04:27:49 AM
The only bad ribs that I have are my broken ribs. I slipped in the shower breaking some ribs and receiving a black eye. It is very painful but I will survive. At least I was not in a car accident or some other type of injury. The human body function rather good most of the time and some people think that we are made from primordial soup.

Thankful Brad

OUCH! That's a long painful recovery! I broke a couple a few years back and I definitely feel for you! Sneezing was brutal! Hell, just getting out of bed or rolling over was sheer misery! Good luck, take care! One day you'll wake up and just notice that all is well again.

Ordinarily I would say Iceman's Sopin sauce would make any bad ribs good but in this case I think I'll pass on the Iceman recommendation.  Although, come to think about it, Iceman's sauce on some ribs would still be a good idea, eating that is. I think his sauce can heal within.   ;D

Hey Gizmo

That's good... It's kinda like.... chicken soup for colds & flues and Iceman's Sauce for bad ribs!  :D

Sorry Car54.... Don't laugh at this & hope you get feeling better soon...

I think Iceman's sauce might do the trick. Look at what they do at some spas. Oh yes, a bath in the sauce. Iceman you could go world wide on this.

Sorry to hear about the incident and hope that you've found a way to dull the pain.  I suggest finding some of those Crown Royal pucks, since they come with a bottle of Crown, for this purpose.

I was going to make a crack about Iceman's sauce, but I see that Giz beat me to the punch...line.

good luck.

Car54, I feel your pain, brother. Back in the early 90's I fell off a railroad bridge and broke 4 ribs, bruised a kidney,(peed blood for a month) pulled a groin muscle, tore all the hide off of one arm from wrist to shoulder, and broke two fingers. I spent about 3 weeks in the bed all drugged up, or I'm sure the pain would have been alot worse.
BUT-this past June I had an acute attack of gout-hopefully my first and last-that hurt me twice as much as the above injuries-and I believe you could throw a broken leg or two in the mix! I never knew there was anything in this world that could cause so much pain. I'm on preventative medicine now, but still have to watch what I eat. So I'm eating smaller briskets, pork loins, ribs, etc. Get well soon and take it easy on yourself, because in order to heal, you gotta chill.

Thanks for all the concern. I am feeling rather well with very manageable pain. The 1st night was the worse. I made a mistake of lying down in bed to sleep. When I tried to get out I was in excruciating pain. Any move was like a knife in my side. I finally had to just hold my gut in and get up. I was screaming in pain. The next 4 nights I slept sitting up on the couch. It was difficult to stand up but a whole lot easier then getting out of the bed. I am thankful. It could have been worse.

Thanks, Brad

Glad you're getting through it. Did the docs give you that little machine to blow into, so you don't get pneumonia?

On track, no they did not. They did listen to my breathing. I am surprised they did not because my lungs function is less then 50% due to life long asthma. The main thing is that I am healing very quick.
