Title: PID controller -- my wife needs one~~!
Post by: Oldman on November 14, 2007, 03:51:45 PM
Hey all my wife needs a PID controller and I really do not have time to make one. Anyone out here willing to make me one?    ... of course I would pay ya.

I would probably try one as well, but I come closer to being a brain surgeon than an electronic wizzard.  I would pay for one as well.  Then again, it is possible that I would probably need someone to hook the thing up as well.

If you guys get in a bind for a PID I'll be back in town around the first of Dec. I'm making two more for the smokers I'm putting in the shed this winter. Don't know what you want to run with them other than a Bradley so let me know in an e-mail. I'm ordering parts just after the holiday. Mine are 40 amp and have a switched and un switched outlet in them for running the generator separate from the heating element. All mine do is control the tower temps and don't do the ramp thing. It keeps the tower temp within 2 to 4 degrees.

Works for me... Only going to use it in the Bradley... when I have to leave Susan does not do a good job of watching the temp... this will be great.

;D Linda would be the same - if she checked it at all.  She cooks indoors and I cook out.  So far I simply do not smoke unless I know I will not have to leave.  I already sent you an e-mail.

Old's and Wildcat I have the parts for your PID on the way. I'll be trying to snag some time off over the next holiday and will put them together for you. I'll design it so you just plug it into your power source and plug the tower in controlled outlet and the generator in the live outlet. It's a real simple set up. (I did it like that so Ann could use it). :o :D ;) You can just stick the probe through the vent or in the door seal. Let me know if you need anything changed. It will look something like this one only without the heat sink fins.

I simply cannot find the right words to express how much I appreciate this.  Thank you so very much.
