hi guys i'm new...where is the exhaust on the 4 & 6 shelves, and can you hook up some duct work so you can smoke say like in a garage...thanks...
The exhaust is actually on the top of the unit. There are several folks here that have connected various creations to vent the smoke out of their garage, appartment, or hotel room.
Mike (MR Walleye) has a real clean and efficient setup in his garage. Here is a link to his post.

You want to make sure if using some sort of fan to suck out the smoke, that you don't want to suck out all the smoke in the cabinet at the same time there by not actually getting smoke penetration in the meat.

thanks gizmo...i was wondering if i could use something like just chimmeny draw...i think i'm going to explore that avenue...why pay electric for a fan when wind is free...what do you think...migraine
The chimney effect may be sufficient but a low CFM fan would definately ensure a positive result. One draw back to the chimney effect is a lack of high heat which helps with the rising air. When cold smoking with ice in the cabinet and in an offset box, I have had to put a small fan bouncing air off the back wall on to the side of the smoke gen just to keep the smoke from backing up into the smoke gen as it would not rise effectively out of the main unit.
thanks gizmo...what cfm fan do you think...cold smoking and all this stuf is new to me...i smoke now on a charbroil charchol grill...i didn't by an electric one yet...i'm still doing the reserch... i'll buy something and then i hear you should of bought this one...any sugestions for geting started...thanks...rock
One item to really consider is moisture build up. If you are doing chickens and using something like a dryer hose to vent and it is long the moisture will flow back into your box and out the front door. I cannot say about ther Digital unit but on the Standard unit water flowing out the front is death to the unit--as it will short out the Bradley.
Olds, with the DBS, you don't have to worry about the wires running underneath the doors. Either way you cut it, water dripping out the front of your unit is not a good thing :)
Couldn't tell you about the actual CFM. It doesn't take much so the lowest you can get the better. Adding some fluting as shown in the previous posts can help if the fan is too powerful.

EDIT I don't know about their heat load. Some units like these will handle up to 180 F.
