prediction Ha I know one thing for a fact... Olds will not be watching. Sorry all, but I have no use for sports, unless it is kids playing.

Olds,

Sports are nothing more then entertainment. It really makes no difference who wins or looses. I like your comment about watching kids play. I have the honor and sometimes the regret of have my daughter and her son living across the street from us. Many times I just watch him play with his friends and it is very enjoyable. Earlier this summer I looked out the window and he and his friend were at the peak of a  story house. I asked what he was doing up there and he replied " I'm just hanging out with my friend". I promptly kicked him off the roof.

I like sports, but have never been much at watching it.  If I am not actively participating (playing, coaching, or even gambling) I will normally do something else.

Go Cleveland.  At least don't let those steelers beat us three times in the same year.  After that, I don't care what happens.  Sorry Clarego

WVU was voted the 2007 "Party School of the Year"! Add a National Championship on top of that and it would be a helluva year! ;)

Yes, very sad.  There has to be more to that story, though.  I guess it was the second time somebody had broken in to the house.  Seems very well thought out to me from what I have read.

I need to ask a question...why did someone shoot him in the groin? Seems like an odd place to do that if you wanted to kill someone? Sorry, Washington fans, if that is an offensive question. Seems to me like maybe a woman or a jealous guy would do that. Hubby and I have been pondering this...just seems odd...again...it is very sad that a young man with such potential in life is no longer with us.

Actually, that was probably the unintended consequence. Usually shooting outside of the torso is not a fatal wound (ignoring head shots). In this case, hitting the femoral artery did him in. This also assumes someone was actually aiming low, and not just a bad shot.

I don't think the groin shot was intentional either. Details are sketchy at best right now but they say when he heard someone in his house he locked his bedroom door but they kicked it in. Two shots were fired, one missed the other hit him in his groin area so it doesn't sound like who the shooter was had very good aim.

There are a lot of reports out there dealing with his past but I have followed this kids career since he was in college at Miami. He did have off the field issues but since he had his little girl 18 months ago he was really trying to turn his life around and he was just beginning to really experience life.

I also wish it didn't take a pro athlete to make people realize this happens every day.
