Title: DigiQII

I have a Bradley Digital Smoker 6 rack. I was wondering how do you hook up a DigiQII? and how does it work with an electric heating element.

Hi okeejohn;

I have the original, but the DigiQII should hook up the same way. You have to purchase the package that includes the Raptor. The Raptor received the signals from the DigiQ to control the heating element. The hook up is simple. You connect the DigiQ to the Raptor, and plug the heating element into the back of the Raptor. Like I said I have the original but the operation should basically be the same. For the original you turn the heat up as high as possible, I would guess for the digital you would set the temperature at the highest setting. The the control device will maintain your desired temperature.

You may want to wait until next year. Shotgun Fred is coming out with some new products and an updated version of the Raptor. You may want to join their forum to keep up to date.

Habs is right on. The only thing different with the DBS is, when you plug into the tower the control in the smoke generator is out of the loop and therefore the tower side of the control can be left turned off. (no need to adjust tower temp on generator) This is the same way I have my PID setup on my DBS.
