Safe travels to all who venture out this season.

Since the mrs and I had the little ones, (8 and 5 this year) we dont travel, rather we stay home and graze at the in house all day buffet.  Chambord and champagne about 10:00 am, last present usually opened at about 2:00 pm, followed by a movie for the boys and a nap for dad.  I look forward to this day more than our kids!

Merry Christmas all!

Wildcat, et. all,
Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!  and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!  :)

We've got little ones so it's family Christmas at home.  Plan on making Peking Duck - a family tradition at X-mas time.  Am thinking about cold smoking the duck before dry roasting in the oven though.

season greetings from snowdrifted and windswept 10 degrees right now northeast iowa...

to all the liberal smokers...

Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere .

Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or 0ual preference of the wishee.

to all the conservative smokers...

Frohe Weinachten an alle und einen guten Rutsch wunsche ich Euch.  Gebratene Ente, Kartoffelklosse und Rotkohl warten.

Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all.  A roast duck, potato dumplings and spiced red cabbage are nearly done.

Merry Christmas all.  The "eve" annual seafood fest is soon to begin.  Glad I have a 12 oz headstart!

I'm not sure of the exact quote, but it is something to the effect of

May the road rise up to meet you (and take you to your butcher).
May the wind always be at your back (of your Bradley).
May the sun shine warm upon your face (unless you are cold smoking),
and rains fall soft upon your fields (if you have an inside vented set up)
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand (absolutely no change necessary here).

Hi MW (Mike);

You have a wonderful looking family. Did you steal that tree from Rockerfeller Plaza :D

It looks like you had a great Christmas, so I hope your New Years is all well.

Thanks guys for the kind comments...I definitely married up for sure...thus the great genes for the good look'n kids...definitely did not come from me...

We save up for at stay in a cabin that my wife finds for Thanksgiving each year...this year we went to Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, MO.  They are the same folks that do Bass Pro Shops.   And you better save up to go there....but it is nice.  For a frugal miser like me it's like getting my prostate examined....but the family really has fun...and the memories we are making now seems to be getting more and more important.

Be safe

As everyone else said, Mallard, you have a great looking family. Those good looking kids look like they are at the age where they may be finding "other than family"  :( interests in the next few years, so I'm glad to see you are all enjoying the time you spend together. Hope you all have a very happy and safe New Year!
