Title: Site problem
Post by: Mr Walleye on December 22, 2007, 10:07:43 AM
Anybody notice this.....

$db_last_error = 1198339862; ?>

at the top of every page of the forum?

Or... is it just me or my computer?

I also notice the "font" on the forum is much larger then before. It's not larger on any other site, just here.

Hopefully it's not being hacked!

If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. Yours is the only avatar that I see with the dreaded red X. Everybody else's looks fine.

Preview is not working for me either.

Personally, I think the site is being hacked by pigs, cows, yard birds and anything else throughout the world.  They gotta try and find some way to slow down all of this smoking ;D

Well it looks like this site urgently needs updating, the version that is running here (SMF) is 1.1, the latest should be 1.1.4.

Now this would indeed make the forum insecure, so the jokes about hacking could be nearer the truth than we think.

An admin or moderator with the right privilages needs to address this straight away.

It looks like the version that's being used atm, leaves this forum wide open to be hacked.

I have the same error and can not preview anything. I thought that it was someting in my computer. I'm glad that it is not. If the forum can be updated it should be and should have been done already.

I hit the "report to moderator" button a couple of days ago as well. I would just hate to see any of this vast, great information disappear.

I've got the same line of type ($db_last_error = 1198339862; ?>) but no problems with size, fonts, or avatars when using Fire Fox, but Safari giving some problems. Must be an update issue for sure.

Well guys, all my mails have not been sent? either they've been blocked?, or there is a problem with the Bradley mail server?

I have tried sending the mail to various Bradley mail addresses with the same result, this problem really does need fixing, so if anybody has any contact details, please post here or pm and i'll try again.

I was thinking maybe i should contact Kirk (Chez Bubba) as he is a mod here?

I may have lost his e-mail address, i'll have a look for it, but in the meantime i'll keep trying the Bradley addresses.

If i hear anything i'll let you know  ;)

LilS....are you clicking the links on the Bradley site for e-mailing?  If so, you might want to try typing them, as I found when I was trying to become a dealer, that the "link" for e-mailing has a space in the address, and thus is not a valid address.  When I got through, finally, I forgot to ask them to tell their site developer about this problem.

Same here, acords. Font size looks back to normal, error code is gone, but like you the avatars still have the X.
Title: Re: Site problem
Post by: LilSmoker on December 28, 2007, 12:59:29 AM
Well i tried the mails with adjusted address again, and i think most if not all of them didn't get through?

The preview option still doesn't work, and all the X's that i'm seeing are avatars that have been uploaded to and hosted by this site. The avatars that are working are hosted elswhere by Photobucket etc.

So this suggests to me that somebody had been making adjustments in the "Administration Center" of this forum, i just hope it's an admin? (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s62/Gitster59/Eeeeeek.gif)

Anyone else get the message that you already posted a reply when you clearly hadn't?  I see a lot of avatars but there are some with the red x still.

I still think it's the cows and pigs and other assorted items that are giving their lives in pursuit of our smokers.  I can't prove it, but I know it  :D
Title: Re: Site problem
Post by: Artmiester on December 28, 2007, 05:54:08 AM
Firefox shows everything with no error code now, but Safari still doesn't show avatars and the error code is gone. There is still the same tired spam warning on the Bradley Messages so who's making the repairs? This is kind of spooky. Could be hacking. Now i see my posts still don't preview in Firefox. Where's Bradley? Over?  ??? ???

Hi guys/gals, i got a reply to my mail regarding the forum problems, here's what it says:

Good Morning Steve,

Thank you for your email.

Sorry for the delay in response. We have been short staffed and on holiday hours since December 21/07 but are back with regular staff and hours as of today.

I have forwarded your email onto our IT guys who handle the Forum. I hope that they can fix this issue. As soon as I hear back from them, I will let you know the result.

We appreciate you letting us know about this issue.

Thanks again and Happy New Year!

Hopefully it will now get sorted  ;)

There may also be a java script error on this site?

Yeah, i think Giz is right about the filter, as some pics can be used to spread a virus  ::)

However, there are still lots of errors that need fixing at this site, i realy don't know what's taking the Bradley IT guys so long to sort it?

I haven't had anymore mails from them, but they really should be on top of this by now, it seems there are java script errors, updates, and probably some security issues here that really need to be addressed  ???

If something doesn't happen soon, maybe i should ask them again  ;)

I hit the "Report To Moderator" button on this thread back when I first started it. I did get an email from Bradley around Jan 3 or 4th similar to yours saying that their IT dept. was working on it.

Hopefully they get it sorted out.

Any word on the site fix fron Bradley? I still can't see pictures or most avitars. Hopefully it's not the new computer I just received.
Title: Re: Site problem
Post by: Habanero Smoker on January 17, 2008, 03:07:49 AM
The only problem I am still having is not being able to see the avatars on the server that Bradley is using, the preview does not work, and I can't change my avatar unless I post it on Photobucket. So far I've had not problems with viewing pictures.

The inability to view pictures my be related to your computer settings. I would go to another forum that you know of that post pictures and see if you can view the pictures on their site. If not, you would need to change your security settings in either your firewall or browser. I would start with the firewall. With ZoneAlarm I had to give permission to accept banners, pop ups, animations, 3rd party cookies, and private header information.

Hi Guys, it's definately an issue with this forum, as i am a member at other similar SMF forums and don't have this problem.

Also if you look at the foot of the page, it gives you version numbers, now these really need to be kept up to date, to keep ahead of security exploits, by the look of it, this site is very much out of date, and the date at the bottom is stating 2001-2005, it should at least be 2005-2007.

There also seems to be Java script errors, i can't understand why it's been allowed to get to this state?
The forum Admin would be notified of any updates and patches in the Admin console, and it only takes a few minutes to install the updates ::)

I'll mail them again, and ask if there's been any progress?

I'll post the replys here, this was the second reply i got, but nothing since:

Hi Steve,

I just heard back from out IT guys and they are aware of the problem and are working on it. Please see their response to me below:

"We are working on finding out why the "preview" does not work when one try to post a new message. Apparently, there is javascript error on that page.

Regarding upgrading the SMF to a current version, it will take some time for us to review.  Will get back to you on this."

I will keep you updated. Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Have a great day!

Just an update, here's a copy of the mail i've just sent:

Hi again Katie, I just wondered if there's been any progress with fixing the forum at all?
The issues over there are causing the members some problems now, and we'd appreciate somebody getting it fixed.

It's a fantastic forum, very busy, with a real community feel about it, and the membership is made up of some great and friendly people, who contribute to the wealth of knowledge at the site.

The site has been a great help to all Bradley customers, and we hope it will continue this way in the future.

So as you can understand, the site needs to be looked after, and kept up to date in order to function properly on a day to day basis.

Kind regards  Steve

I'll post any replies  ;)
