Title: Apple is awesome...might have a new favorite bisquette
Post by: Stickbowcrafter on February 05, 2008, 11:42:38 PM
I picked up a 120 pack of apple bisquettes on sale and to use for a maple cured bacon recipe. I've used mostly hickory for smoking bacon in the past. I couldn't believe the depth of flavor that the apple wood smoke brought to the bacon. Looking forward to trying them in some other recipes.

They don't stick an apple in a pigs mouth for nothing.   :D
Apple smoke does go well the pig.

Yes! Apple is a good smoke to use with pork. I often use maple for bacon, but I have been drifting more and more towards pecan for pork. My next belly bacon I'm planning on using pecan.
