Title: Prime Rib

Hi All,

  Thinking of doing a prime rib tommorrow.  Its almost 9 lbs.  So I was thinking of 250F for an internal of 133-135F.  About 1.5 hours cherry..   Does anybody have an oppinion?

Sounds like it will work to me.  I did one a while back, if I remember right I had the temp at 220, it was a 7 pounder bone in and took around 5 hours.  Here is the post from when I did it, let us know how it turns out!  ;D

Johnny:  I'd apply smoke for a bit, then switch over to a high heat oven or grill.  I've had good results that way.  Owrstrich does prib quite a bit and I think he has a method down pat.  His pictures sure look good.  Maybe see if you can PM him.
