Post by: mcanik on March 23, 2008, 04:40:03 PM
Digging through my toolbox today, I found my old handheld digital termometer. I was looking online for a suitable probe to use with the BS. Omega has one for $36.00 It is 1/8" x 6" with a SS braid armor wire.  am getting in to this Bradley smoking thing now!! ;D

Many on this forum use the ET-73. It's a dual probe remote thermometer. One probe monitors the cabinet temperature and the other monitors the meat temperature. It also has the stainless steel covered wire.

Being that it is a remote thermometer, generally you can place the reciever in a convient spot so you don't have to go back and forth to the smoker to see what the temperatures are. Although it says it is good for 50 feet, count on maybe half that distance, depending on what materials the signal has to travel through.
