Zorro, my 8 1/2 yr old lab suffered a grand mal seizure back in March. I've been keeping a watchful eye on him since. Friday night I see he's not himself, flinching when I go to pet him, just zoning out when we're out in the field, seems to be afraid to be out in the dark and other things that are not my Zorro. Went to the vet saturday and they referred me to a neurologist, appoinment May 12. When we got home from the vet he appeared more himself but today I can see again that there are problems. I'll take him to the emergency if he starts getting worse but for now I'll just watch over him.

My best to you and Zorro, HCT. They're not referred to as man's best friend for nothing. Hope all goes well.

I really feel for you. Zorro does have one thing in his favor - he is a dog. Many times dogs have the ability to recover from seizures much better than a human. I hope this is true in Zorro's case. I had one dog that lived 5 more years after several small seizures and one that was very serious.
It's terrible to have to watch someone or something you love suffer.
All the best to him HCT and to you too. He's a beautiful dog.

Best wishes to you and Zorro HCT. Prayers are with you all.

A load of good thoughts coming across the pond to you both HCT, Zorro is a fine looking friend. :)

God bless you and Zorro...and may his healing power be brought to you both!
Prayers are with you and Zorro, HCT...
Give him an extra treat from the Bradley gang.
Mike
Ditto, here as well!
HCT do you have any updates on Zorro?
tturaider,
Zorro is pretty much the same, getting around okay but I'm noticing that his sight is off. When I toss a treat to him he doesn't see it. Usually he would just catch it in his mouth, now it just hits the ground then he'll notice it. Today when I was on the tractor I don't think he realized how close he was to me. I just have to be real careful with him in situations that I just took for granted. My heart is breaking for my little brother.
Thanks for asking,
Mike
God willing you both will get thru it!!!
I'm with ya HCT...HOPE EVERYTHING comes out ok. :)
HCT,
Our prayers will be with you and Zorro.

Been thinking about you and Zorro HCT. My yellow lab will be 12 at the end of the month. She and I limp around our 25 minute walk circuit, a couple of old gimpers. I would sure miss her if she were gone. I have to throttle her back when I'm throwing a stick in the ocean for her to swim after--she would keep going until she dropped and she would barely be able to move for days. The spirit of labs is a beautiful thing....

I couldn't agree with you more T2, the spirit and unwavering commitment that a dog has is unparallelled.
There are a lot of people in this world that could learn a thing or two from them.
Mike
T2, it's said that there is no greater love than that of an older dog, it's unbelievable when that older dog is a lab. 4 of my oldest are 9 and 10 and the bond and love we share I wouldn't trade for anything although they would prolly sell me out for a pig ear. :D :D :D Enjoy your senior, I know she's the best.
