Title: New smoker,,, all giddy!
Post by: bubbleblower on May 31, 2008, 10:30:45 AM
Hi Everybody!
Just unpacked a new DBS, very cool!  Now to get it smokey.  I feel like a little kid with a new toy!
I want to make it all, now, today,,,,,patience my foot, I want to eat something!
Going out to buy some back ribs to break it in, but while they are soaking up the rub overnight, I thought some ground beef jerky might be in order.
Anybody have a favorite recipie for it?
Thanks!

I remember others on here talking about gnd jerky, hopefuly they will chime in to help out.
One note: since your smoker is new and shiny. Make sure to season it well before putting food in it.
I actually followed the seasoning directions but did it twice to make sure I did not pick up any oils from the sheetmetal or other bad smells/tastes from it being new.
Welcome to the site.
