Title: RAIN
Post by: car54 on June 09, 2008, 03:00:45 PM
On Saturday and Sunday in my part of Milwaukee we received about 9 inches of rain. My daughter's sump pump broke at 6:30 PM causing about 4 inches of water in her basement and rising. I left to get a new pump and the road I was on was flooded with about 10 inches of water for about 100 feet. I thought "WHY NOT", I have an SUV. I had no problem until I reached the end and a police car showed up. He was very angry with me and I told what else can I do, my daughter's basement was flooding . He reluctantly let me go. I bought and installed the new pump and drained the basement.

Would I do it again, YES. I would look closer for the police. 3 out 4 exits from our subdivision were flooded. I just picked the shortest route to the store.

Even though things were flooded, once the rain stops it goes down fairly quick. It was not that bad.

That's too bad about the flooding.  South of me in Indiana got hit pretty hard as well.  I think they got 11" of rain down there.  This sure has been some weird weather patterns in these parts lately.
