I haven't had a case like this since I was a kid. Damn stuff is breaking out all over me. It started on thuesday and has been getting worse by the hour. I washed myself with 'brown' soap and made a paste to cover the affected areas. I guess I caught it too late. I hope it doesn't spread down the the netherlands. Damn I hate this. >:( >:( >:(
I feel for ya. Many friends have had it. Fortunately for me, I seem to be immune to Ivy and Oak.
Sorry HCT, poison ivy is never good :(
If it doesn't improve I highly reccomend Zanfel. Poison Ivy seems to love me and that has been the best thing for recovering. If you go to your pharmacy and ask for it they typically have it behind the counter. You don't need a script but it is pricey.

Thanks Buck.
My wife had it really bad last year and that made me afraid I'd get it in the south 40 as well. She ended up getting a shot for it which helped tremendously.

What the he11 are ya doing SD!
Your only supposed to shoot animals when they are injured!
:D :D :D ;D
Mike
Good one Mike! ;D ;D ;D
Don't let it go too long without seeing a Doctor. A guy at work had it and it spread all over his body before he saw a Doctor. He had a tough time getting rid of it.
Hang in there and don't touch any thing, Brad

My favorite saying when the kids incessantly ask where there mother is: "Broke her leg, had to shoot her." They no longer believe me, but the first couple of times, you could tell they weren't really sure ;D
I sure miss that gullable stage. :D

That poison ivy is wicked stuff. I hope it clears up soon.
Hey Mike,
Ain't it the truth. :-\
Good luck with that clearing up soon. We've got a bunch of the stuff at the family cottage. I've got to watch my 18 month old like a hawk, otherwise he'd walk right into a big patch, sit right down and start sniffing and eating the stuff. Yikes!!
Man o man this itching is driving me nuts. I'm covered in Benedryl and it just keeps itching, blistering and draining. It's still showing up in new spots, between my fingers, along my beltline, etc. AAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH!!!!!! :P :P
Hey, HCT. Don't wait it out too long. As car54 said. Doctors can help and you dont want it to get into your system :-\
Man! I feel for ya!
I can LOOK at a poison ivy vine and get the dreaded rash! I would definitely go to the doc if it gets any worse.... They can give you the good stuff and knock it right out.
Good luck, I wish you wellness!
Jeff
Finally got some Prednisone in me. Hoping for relief soon.
When I was a kid I had this so bad, my whole body was covered, that I never got P.I. since. Built up an immunity to it I guess. Well I guess the immunity is gone. :(
We have poison oak, not ivy, out here. In the winter, there may not be leaves on the plants. We all knew what the plant looked like (hard learned lessons). However, when I was in fourth grade, my cousins and I blazed a trail through about 5 miles of "sticks" which turned out to be poison oak. Had it from my scalp to my toes. Calamine lotion, cortisone cream all did nothing worthwhile that I could notice.
What did seem to help was a luke warm bath with some bleach added. Don't know if that will help you out.
Man that brings back some wicked memories. I was so swollen when I was a kid they put me in the hospital. Thank goodness we don't have it up here. Hope you get better soon HCT.
I finished the prednisone yesterday and the poison ivy is finally under control. Still a few blisters and some itchiness but not like it was. I'm still taking the benydrl and that helps. Damn I'm glad this is finally coming to an end.
I took a walk around the property and found some ivy growing, mostly around the edges of the property. Found a little by the chicken coop too. I know the best way to get rid of it is to pull it out but I'm not risking another infection so I'll get the poison ivy killer and spray the s**t out of it. Hopefully that will work.
Thanks all for your concern.
Mike
Good to hear your getting out of the bad woods - Literally.
Sounds like this is one step under adult chicken pox.
