Hi All...
Have had an opportunity to do something very fun with some "foodie" friends of ours. Now I'm not a gambling gal by nature...but when it comes to sports....we get a "wee" bit kooky!! Soooo...we have some foodie friends who think (as do we..) that we know what we're talking about!! (Most of the time neither couple does...but that's not the point!!) I think this is a very fun thing to do with friends who enjoy a passion for cooking. We do an "Iron Chef" bet. If you lose...the winner gives you a secret ingredient that you must incorporate into an appetizer, a main dish, and a dessert. The loser must come to your home (bring all of the meal ingredients) and cook for you.
The fun is when the winner....gives you the "secret ingredient"...if you're the loser...then you must search the internet...or ask friends or...
Every dish must be made in front of the winner...no store bought stuff...
Anyhoo...just thought I'd share since we are all food people here...it is a hoot to do with good friends!!

Hey Giz...a bet....I lost betting on the last SuperBowl..they lost on Da Lakers meltdown! We've done it on silly ridiculous things...like the Next Food Network Star...or...who cares...it has nothing to do with anything important in life....hey Giz...wanna make a wager? :)

Late July would be great!!! As it will only be 115-120 here!!! We gotta bet on something tho Giz or it doesn't count. Let's see...uh...will the Angels win 55 games by next Friday? I say yes....

I wish some of my friends were foodies - most of the time I talk & their eyes glaze over about the second sentence. I figure they shouldn't ask questions if they don't want to know every detail about how their food was prepared ;D

It is great fun actually....makes people think about cooking....I like that...nothing "has" to be smoked....just unique and fun...if it comes out like crap....who cares....then we all talk about how we could fix a particular dish...I like that about food....you can always learn another technique...another flavor....nobody knows more then the others eating the food...BRILLIANT!! Everyone has their own perspective...
