Title: Bryan Egolf's new product
Post by: Oldman on July 19, 2008, 03:18:55 PM
Bryan has added a neat addon hot dog grill to fit your grill to his line. It runs on rechargable batteries.

This might be a sale for our house. I could spend three days prepping and smoking the best meat ever tasted for dinner. My kids would run past it to get the hot dogs we threw on the grill for a couple minutes.

.....and for octopus hotdogs they would even set the table!

Hey Olds, Begolf:

Do you know if that is an infrared grill under the roller dog?
Looks like the new TEC Infrared surface but could just be the detail of the photo.

Old's,

Thanks for posting this. We also have another version that fits grills with an existing rotisserie that is a little cheaper since it doesn't come with the motor.

Also, I got an email from Hillbillysmoker about the Grill Kicker product he really liked. We brought them in and it really is a great little product. Tried it out this weekend. We also brought in their smoke generator called the Smoke Pistol. Haven't tried those out yet but looks like another option if you are interested in building your own smoker.

Gizmo,

Not sure what model grill that is but its not a TEC. It may be the Char-Broil grill that is using TEC technology. Char-Broil made an hybrid grill using TEC's patent for the infra-red part. Problem is they were having them made in China and they do not hold up under extreme heat. What happens is bolts were actually melting and they were falling apart. These grill are being discontinued. Lowes was the big dealer of these and they are not buying anymore and in most cases not even selling what they have left.

That was too bad.  I was looking at the TEC branded grill at LOWES.  Read mixed reviews but liked the TEC Infra red design on the grill.  No Flareups.  The other grills have the old Infrared technology as the TEC pattent ran out in 2000.  Char-Broil  bought the rights to manufacture the version but as you said it was made in China.  I don't like the old version as the burner is way to far away from the heating surface and reduces the heat and allows flare-ups.  The discontinuation by LOWES would explain why they are not on the floor any more.  Hopefully someone will come out with a comparable model that can take the heat.

I know they are more expensive then the Char-Broil grills that featured a TEC style burner but we carry the actual TEC grills. If either of you are interested in one drop me a PM or email. As always we will take care of anyone from the forum.

Haven't look at them all but I haven't seen the configuration I like yet.  The Lowes model had 2 large Infrared and 2 large gas cooking areas which is my favorite configuration.  Do you know if they have any arranged like that?
