Hopefully you do not need an operation. Your pool/deck looks great.

Unfortunately for me I'm going in to get cut on the 19th, if I can make it that long. I went to the ER on Monday in severe stomach pain. After 7 hours of tests and over nine hours of terrible pain, I find out my gallbladder needs to be removed. I have been having these pains for the last few years but they always went away after an hour or so, not this time! It happened three nights in a row and again last night. Sure makes it tough to go to work everyday.  :P
And till the operation I'm on a low fat - NO animal fat diet. They said this will help with the attacks, but it did not work last night.  ??? NO bacon, NO sausage, NO pork butt, NO brisket, NO ribs?  :( What do they expect me to eat?

I'm smoking 8 racks of Hungarian hot wax peppers this morning. A friend brought them over and wants to can them in olive oil and garlic after I smoke them. I'll get a couple jars when he is finished for doing the smoking. I've never had them this way before but it sounds interesting.

That's all five food groups isn't it?  ::)

We will keep both you guys in our thoughts and prayers.

You guys will be back up and smokin' in no time!  ;)

I had mine out five years ago. Same set of tests. I found that spending time reclined helped. Spent two weeks @ work with my feet on my desk and a keyboard in my lap.  :D

FWIW, the recovery from the (laproscopic) Gall bladder surgery, IMHO, was M U C H  easier than my double hernia surgery.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

I hope so, I have never been cut open before so I do not know what to expect. I've been trying to sleep in a recliner but last night went to bed, big mistake. It will be tough sleeping in a chair for the next two weeks till it comes out.

I did the "prop up on 1000 pillows" thing.

PM me if you want - I don't want to hijack NePA's thread.

Pens; sorry to hear that. I hope everything gets resolved soon.

Believe it or not, there is more than meat. :) For some reason the past several weeks I been working on some tofu recipes, a couple of recipes calls for smoking them. That is if the weather would cooperate.

I WARNED you about eating that farmed salmon, Pens!  Hmmmm, the new diet: smoked "soylent green" ???? :o ;)

NePA....You blew it, amigo....you had the perfect chance for some SERIOUS points on the homefront, with a properly executed response to Olds' post like, "My wife was behind me when I took this picture.....she doesn't like her picture taken and put on the internet, especially in her swimsuit." !!!   ;) ;) ;D

Funnin' aside, I don't envy you either of your potential surgeries, Pens/NePa, but have said a prayer for you both and your families......been there, done that, except my "knife" was more like a Skilsaw to the chest! :o ;) ;) Will look forward to hearing the good post-surgery reports!

Thanks Kummok for the well wishes.  :)
Maybe you can show me how to catch a wild Alaskan salmon and a 250 pound halibut one of these days. That way I can avoid the bad fishes.  ;D

The difficult part is trying to sleep in a chair sitting up. If I lay down I end up in so much pain and it last several hours. As far as I know there is nothing I can do for the pain except bear it.

NEPAS, I agree a bunch of hot bikini babes around the pool would liven the pool up a bit.  ;) Just tell the MRS. that they are home health care specialists there for your therapy treatment.  ::)

Largest for me was a 20 pounder. I did try for the moose in the background, but the man wouldn't cast that far. :)

The best part of this kinda fishing is the cleanup, Pens!!

I've tried several times for that moose, Habs....doggone rod won't convert to rifle... :-\ ;) ;)

Problem with this kind of fishing is...... nothing to smoke or eat.  :P

I also tried to get the moose, must need some fireline on the reel to get it.  ???
