Title: New digital turns power off
Post by: Paawpaaw on August 09, 2008, 02:13:25 PM
Have 6 rack digital about 3 weeks old. Seasoning unit ran fine, Next use after 3 hours unit tuns off both smoker and tower. Today trying to use it turns both units off every 10- 15 minutes. Nothing else running on circuit , use same receptacle for elecytri lawn mower and hedge clippers , runs ok. Any ideas?

Hi Paawpaaw and welcome to the forum.

It sounds to me that the plugs are causing the problem. They can be difficult to get seated correctly when new for some reason. I would un-plug and re-plug all the cords but especially the main power cord because the problem is both the tower and the generator.

As I understand it you have power to the outlet, are you using an extension cord? When you loose power have you tried re-seating the plugs on both the smoke generator and the tower?

Turned off smoker for last 40 minutes and unit ran as it should,
Meat not done so added anoth hour to tower after 15 minutes
tried to turn on smoker and it immediately shut down both sides.

Plugs in and out appear to be ok.

Something must be wrong with smoker sent e-mai to Bradley.

Short of Mr Walleye ideas I am in favor of the call to Bradley... The plugs on new units do take some solid push and wiggle - for whatever reason.  Bradley will have ideas or will make it right. Let us know what you find out...

Good news Paawpaaw, their customer service is second to none for sure. Hang onto that old generator incase you need any parts down the road some time.

Outstanding solution.  Will let you troubleshoot the 'extra' to see if it is something easy to spot.  Wire not pushed on solid or something.  Good on Bradley again.   ;D
