Title: smoke flavor?????
Post by: deadeye on August 21, 2008, 02:23:00 PM
I recently purchased the digital 6 rack and I ahve only cooked on it 3 times and I did season it beofre the startup just like the instructions say. It does not seem to produce the smoke flavor of my old bradley is that possible?? Is it because it is still new and it is larger?? Should I smoke for longer and also I have been leaving the dampering system open about 40% or so

thanks for the help

Do the spent pucks look as "burnt" as with your old unit?

Run the smoker with just the smoker generator (no pucks) - what does the box temp get up to ?

Yes the pucs look just like my last ones did. It might be that I have had some of the pucks for awhile too maybe I just need to chunk those and start fresh!!!!

I can't imagine your pucks going bad, unless they got wet and then they would have swoll...otherwise they should be fine.  I'm with FL give it a test run on the SG and see what ya get!
