Hopefully it will head more westerly...doesn't look so good for our friends in Texas though. Gotta tell ya...it's better then a big mother earthqauke IMHO...at least you can run from (a hurricane) if so inclined.

A big high pressure ridge is over Florida now and it should steer Gustav westward.

Unfortunately, it looks like it's tracking right at New Orleans.  That is definitely not needed.  I'll tell ya that I complain about the winters up here but I guess I'd rather have snow than to have to deal with the fury you guys deal with down south.  My thoughts go out to all affected.

You are correct about New Orleans. If it floods out again I would think it would be time to start thinking about moving it in-land rather than be rebuilt.
