Title: Peach Cobbler Bradley Style
Post by: NePaSmoKer on August 29, 2008, 01:40:51 PM
Did a couple of peach cobblers today. 3 pucks of oak @ 300* for 45 mins. I did have to add another 20 mins to this so the crust would brown. I guess you could put it in the oven too. Rotate the cobbler a couple times while in the BS.

The recipe is below.

Ingredients:
6 cups sliced peaches
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup butter or margarine
cinnammon
nutmeg

Directions:

Sprinkle sugar, cinnammon and nutmeg on sliced peaches. Toss to mix. Place in shallow casserole dish. Mix sugar, flour, and egg to a crumb- like texture. Pour over peaches. Melt margarine and drizzle over crumb topping.

Bake at 325* for 30 minutes or until top turns slightly brown and crusty. Serve hot or cold, plain or with ice cream.

That looks delicious!  Is it a strong smoke taste?

Neps: sorry to read about the back issues and wish you well there.

With respect to the cobbler, I never would have thought smoke would be a good compliment to peaches.  If you have time, I'd appreciate reading more about why you smoke rather than bake this item.

Thanks in advance.

Nepas --   ouch :(     but at least you can keep smoking.

I am working this weekend & not smoking anything but now I think I need to squeeze a peach cobbler into my weekend.  It looks great.

About the cobbler.

Just follow the recipe to make. The cobbler really didnt take much smoke. I was suprised the crust didnt either. You can use 1 or 2 pucks if you want then just heat. If the cobbler is not browning you can pop it in the oven too.

I seen somewhere online about smoked cobbler so i thought i would try it. Also you can use a white betty crocker cake mix to pour over the peaches instead of the way the recipe cals for. Use aluminum pans so you dont get your glass all smokey.

This looks good, you gave me an idea to make peach cobbler with plank grilled peaches.

I wish everything goes well with your surgery.
