Now a Cat 4 and expects to upgrade to a Cat 5. It will have 2 days in the Gulf to strenghten. By U.S. landfall, this could be another Katrina or stronger. Keep all on the Gulf coast and particularly Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers. This could go real bad in a hurry.

I will also keep all of our gulf coast friends in my prayers.
Be safe everyone.

At this time it is a cat 4 -- 150mph winds. After Cuba it might drop to a Cat 3, but it is expected to grow perhaps to a cat 5.

Look at the size of this eye....

Where I'm at is is raining from it.... the only good thing I see at this point is it is not a large storm in size...yet anyway.

I'm getting the rain bands too. And Lightning.
I've got my eye on Hanna too.
Take care all my Gulf friends.
Thank God for shearing winds. It is keeping Gustav to a low end Cat 3. And also the shearing winds effects on Tropical Storm Hanna are really taking a toll on her.
We are a good couple of hundred of miles from Gastav and it is gotten so large that it is really raining here now.

Hopefully the damage will be limited in the gulf coast. I stinks to spend all that money on an area that is still below sea level. It just doesn't make sense to me.

IF it keeps on its current track, we will just get the tropical storm portion here in the Pensacola, FL area. Unfortunately we are on the side that increases the odds of tornado activity.
Yeah...I was worrying about you Wilds...you are on the bad side...but looks like it's turning more westerly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in the path of this thing...watching Hanna closely as well...

I could not agree with you more...
