Title: Maverick ET-73 Placement and wire routing
Post by: feinhorn on September 18, 2008, 05:39:37 PM
I already own a Maverick ET-73 from my last smoker.  My question is how are people routing the wires through the OBS?  Also where does everyone place the smoker probe and do you dangle or use the clip?  Where do you place the unit itself so it doesn't get to close to heat and melt?

I just drop mine through the vent, but many run through the door seal and clip to a rack.

I use the vent or the door, dangle. I put the remote on top of the smoker or on a cart next to it.

So the top of the smoker doesn't get hot enough to melt the unit?  Also when you close the door it doesn't crimp the cables?
