Title: Another good strange meat find.
Post by: HCT on October 09, 2008, 04:51:10 PM
Yeah, I know, first it was asking for pig ear recipes, then pig tails and chicken feet BUT.......
I found smoked turkey tails in the market I go to. Man o man, haven't had them in a good 20 yrs. Gonna try grillin' them over indirect heat just to crisp them up. If that doesn't work, into the deep fryer.

Oh, and I will take pics. :D :D

I love turkey tails, but never seen them sold without the rest of the turkey. :)

For me it was a delicacy maybe once or twice a year. Don't tell me where you purchased them, or I'll buy the store out.

Habs, I found them in Price-**** in Torrington. Last weekend they were sold out so I asked the meatman to put some aside for me this weekend. Ha, didn't give you the full name of the store. :D :D :D

Habs, I's not price chopper, it's price-rite.

Habs, I finally got a hold the the tails. They're put out by Nebraska meat corp., $1.79lb. Kinda high for a piece of ass. :D :D :D Turkey ass that is. It just amazes me how the meat industry is placing high prices on pieces of meat that they couldn't give away not so long ago.

Let me know how they turn out.

I know what you mean about the prices of certain foods just soaring. In some stores fresh chicken wings cost more the legs and thigh meat.
