Title: Big Problem
Post by: hercules on December 19, 2004, 05:00:45 PM
Well, Got ready to smoke my first cheese (Second time to use my BS) and I have a problem. Here's my situation, hopefully someone can tell me what's wrong. I put in 4 pucks, plugged the smoke generator in ( but not the cabinet), and waited for 30 minutes for the plate to warm up. I then advanced the pucks and left. An hour later no smoke and the pucks aren't burning, the plate isn't even hot???

I was trying to do a cold smoke. Everything worked fine yesterday for my initial chicken smoking. I dont have to have the cabinet plugged in do I? The generator's lights are on and the fuse is good. Any help would be appreciated. Guess I gt a bad heating element and will have to get a new one.

Thanks

hercules

Everything looked good inside. Still won't heat up. Guess I'll call for a replacement. Is this a common problem? I'm a little worried,  because I've had it 2 days and its already broken[?]

Well I'm sure this problem has happened before...however; I have not seen it posted. Does the unit advance the puck?

Yep pucks advance fine. In fact they advance unburnt into the pan[:D]
I can leave the smoke generator on for an hour and still touch the heating plate and its not even warm.
