Title: How FLBentRider does Ribeyes
Post by: FLBentRider on October 21, 2008, 05:30:18 PM
Since I'm having shoulder surgery tomorrow I figured I'd make a meal I can cut myself:

First a liberal coating of pepper and kosher salt:

Then a coat of oil and into the rocket-hot cast iron pan:

30 seconds on a side and then into the oven for 2 minutes a side.

We made some Onions to go with:

Give the steak a five minute rest:

Thanks,

I was feeding the family of six.

The surgery went well. I now have this thing called iceman that pumps 40F ice water into a wrap on my shoulder. It has a small cooler of ice and water, with a pump.

There has GOT to be a way to adapt this  to allow cold smoking in warmer climates....

Sounds good but I leaning more to finding a way to adapt it to keeping beverages cold.  ;) ;D

I think that the shoulder wrap will definitely work on a wine-size bottle.

I was thinking it could be used to quick chill beer through a feeding tube.  Wouldn't have to get up and down so often.

Looks great FLB.  I did a couple of Sirloins the other night.  Two hours of cold cherry smoke then onto the grill to medium rare.  One of the best treats for dinner in a very long time.

Good healing Flbentrider. The food looks absolutely great . Forking all that should build up your arm.
Man, I'm hungry.

Are you running a cooling pump on your arm. When my wife had her surgery they gave her an ice cooler that circulated water through a wrap. Kinda like the old style Nascar coolers.
