I found a simple way to make a MP3 Disk. Most programs convert the MP3 over to audio. Audio takes up much more space on the CD. Of course you have to have a MP3 player. I put one in my card.
1. Collect the MP3s you want.
2. Run ID3 remover. Have it remove 1D3v1 & 1D3v2 tags. You can download it here free: http://www.marre.org/id3remover/
3. Using Nero burn the MP3 to the CD as a DATA file.
That's it. You now have a MP3 CD for your car.

I'm a little lost? Why take MP3 or WMA and convert them to a WAV file? It would be huge in size.
Windows Media Player will convert MP3 to WMA for standard CD players which is much smaller than a WAV format.
If you have a MP3 player in your car then the great part is if you can burn a MP3 disk is it take up 1/10th the space of WMA and about 1/1000th of a WAV file. For example I have one disk with 200 megs of songs in an MP3 format. There are 38 songs on that disk which is close to 4 hours of music.

dont have an mp3 player in my truck, just a plain old cd player. tried playing an mp3 and it wont play. got this program for free anyways.

If you have windows media player it will auto convert your MP3 into audio files that your cd player will play. Try it and you will get many more songs on a cd.

Once it is converted over to MP3 you will need to burn the MP3 as data file. Now if your software is a good one like Nero it will recognize that it is a MP3 and copy it over as such. When it does all tracks will auto play. Some software will copy it over but the MP3 CD will not run. You will just have to play around to find out what will work for you.

Very practical. Play 8 track to computer and have computer convert.
Not so practical - the tapes are so old they are probably brittle and would disintegrate as soon as the tape was inserted.
Don't have an 8 track player? I have one in the garage. It records as well. Vintage Pioneer 1976.

I think I still have the 8 Track Craig Power Play from the 67 Chevelle that I listened to the 8 Tracks. Oh, yah, I still have the 8 tracks as well. Guess I'll have to dig them out some day and see if they play. 8) Take me back to Hi-School.
That seemed to jog the memory bank a bit talking about 8 track players. My first tape player was a 4 track. Anyone remember those? Probably 1966 I think. They were clear rather than the colored plastic of the 8 track. They did not last long.
I had Radiomobile, and Motorola 8 track players in the 70's, i thought they were great, but then they were replaced by cassette players, which seemed even better as i could record and play my own tapes! ;D

Yes! Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember both. Neither lasted long, the cassette player came out shortly after the 8 track hit the market.
