Title: 1st Turkey Success!
Post by: renvette on December 01, 2008, 07:04:33 AM
My first smoked turkey was a huge success!  Thanks to all that provided tips and tricks.  This forum is invaluable!  I'll be at it again for Christmas.  I used pecan wood this time.  Anyone have any other wood choices that work well?  Also, turkey rub/seasoning recipes would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks again.

Glad things worked out so well!
I use apple, maple and sometimes hickory for turkey.
Hickory if I want a little stronger taste. Mainly if I plan to slice for sandwiches.
They all work good.
