Well took me a few days off and on but I got the upgrade done so I can smoke in the barren wilderness of northern iowa 7 degrees this morning when I got up

I'm new, so forgive the dumb question...but what's the fan for?
Guessing that it's to circulate warm air so that you don't have to
rotate the racks ??
