Your thoughts on a good propane smoker for a cabin??
Camp chef makes a nice lp smoker called the smoke vault. I have the black one. Got it at Cabelas for 199. Dont know if they still carry them.

Thanks, Nepa I value your opinion. That does look like a better built unit. Looks like Cabella's does not have them anymore and the new models are stainless. Higher priced but much better quality. Reviews are pretty good. Alo looked at their "Turkey Cannon". Interesting....
I tried the turkey cannon, it didnt work that good.
On the smoke vault there is a setting on the dial.....warm. It surprised me and held at 180* the flame is very low.

can anyone identify this one??

No help on the ID, but I want it! ;D

Heck, I want it too... But I've been spending a small fortune on other gadgets and have run out of room in my grilling/turkey frying/smoking area (I live in an apartment). SS, its all yours my friend!!! ;D
That's in Consiglieri's neck of the woods. Hopefully, he sees this and realizes he hasn't bought my Christmas/Birthday present yet ;D
If the shipping wouldn't kill me I'd have that bad boy located in my garage!!
Almost looks custom.

I emailed the seller and he says there is no nameplate he can find. Says he bought at costco 2 years ago for 700. I have never seen anything like this at costo.
Me either

When I win the lottery, my garage is going to become my smokehouse (the entire thing). Until that time, the biggest I'll have is the Bradley (unless I can figure out how to cut a whole in my old charcoal grill and use it as a smoker. I sure hope someone here gets that thing....it looks like a beauty.

I believe I have eaten food produced from this before.
If I am not mistaken it is the Grand Cafe that Costco sold a few years back. One of my co-workers has one.
There appear to have been a few different models and now there are some grills that are called Grand Cafe that confuse searches for the product.
The one you have pictured is a solidly constructed smoker. From what I have read, as I was trying to find info on it to purchase one myself a few years back, some folks have a problem getting smoke produced but others have no problems. My co-worker loves his and the two times I ate food from that unit didn't hear any complaints. I posted pictures of the giant bones he produce from the unit here on the forum.
The only issue one might have with the unit is purchasing something that is no longer produced, parts may not be available for it, and you won't be able to get much in the way of support.
If someone does buy the unit and you have any questions on getting it to work, I'll will be happy to relay your questions or put you in touch with my co-worker.
Thank' Giz, I have come up dry on all my searches. I just might have to go look at the dang thing, it's about an hour and a half away. It's for a good friend.
SS;
Email the seller again, and ask for the model and serial number, there should be a serial number plate either on the back, bottom or handle. With that information you may be able to find the product name and manufacturer by doing a search on the web.
I have this slicer with no name on it that I needed parts for, so I type in a search of the model number and serial number and learned it was made by a manufacture that make the same model sold at Sausage Maker and a few others. I had to look through a lot of hits, but eventually I was successful.
Looks like something I'd love to have, but CA? Too far. Besides I have to use my new DBS first
The seller did email me back and confirm it was a Grand Cafe, but that must have been a limited run, as I still cannot find any info. I found some Grand Cafe parts, but nothing on that one.
As I mentioned above, if you have any questions that my co-worker may be able to answer just let me know. He loves the unit and it does produce good food.
