Title: My little Dog Monty
Post by: La Quinta on December 14, 2008, 05:05:53 PM
If any of you have a moment....in this really crappy time...my little boy dog has to have surgery at 10:30 tomorrow morning. just wondered if you could spare a moment to think about him. I know paople have a lot worse things in life to think about right now...just a wish that you may help us out with a little prayer...he's only 6 years old. Just a baby to us...

LQ, I don't have kids, just Dogs. I know how they become very important family members. But when I do my little prayer, his name would help. My thoughts are with the little guy.

You have our prayers, LaQuinta!!!  Scott and I lost our "baby" last month at the age of 2 due to kidney disease.  Like you, our four legged members of the family are our "children".
Please let us know how everything goes with the surgery.

Hi my friends...our little boy got out of surgery about an hour and a half ago. Long story as to why it took so long but he is awake and doing well!! Bob and I are amazingly relieved! Hopefully we can pick him up tomorrow!!

I really would like to take a heartfelt moment to express our sincere thanks to all of you for your kind words and thoughts. I absolutely know it helped our little boy get through his turmoil! As far as I am concerned...all of you people on here are just an extended amazing family of people who care about others. I, for one, and very proud to be a member of such a great group.

Thank You again!

That's great news LQ!  :)

I'm glad you and the hubby will be able to rest peacefully tonight.  Doesn't matter if the loved ones have 2 or 4 legs........we seem to worry just the same!

You made my night, Q!

Just a short follow up...I printed this post and gave it to my husband to read...he started to cry. His only response was, "There are so many good people in this world, God Bless Them."

I know it's just a "little dog" but we have been deeply touched by your caring posts.

Ok...enough...time for the teabag to start swingin...!!!

We are so glad to hear that Monty is doing ok!  BEWARE the cone!  I was goosed many a time by a Doberman with an attitude when he had to wear one of those post-surgery!
Seriously, LaQuinta, they are not just dogs:  they are part of the family.
Keep us posted on Monty's progress, ok?

I tell you this.  Easy way to find out who man's best friend really is:  Put the wife and the dog in the trunk of a car.  Come back in an hour and see who is really glad to see you.  That'll tell you who man's best friend truly is  ;D

Seriously, though, Steeler says to give Monty a high paw!

Great to hear that he is feeling better.

Greenies has a pill pocket for dogs & cats.  It's like a soft treat that has a hole in it.  You put the pill in the squeeze the treat around the pill.   I have a cat that has to take thyroid medication daily, I'm not sure what we would do if we hadn't found the pill pockets.   Here is a link to them  http://www.amazon.com/Greenies-Pill-Pockets-Beef-Capsules/dp/B000QSON4K/ref=pd_bxgy_k_img_c

LQ,
I'm late on this but I told my two Scotties about Monty and how he was sick and needed their support.  You've got double Scottie dogs looking out after Monty.  Sabastian's black and Sasha is white(ever seen a white Scottie? not a Westie)  They both have Monty's back.  He is in the best of hands, uh paws.

Continued best thoughts for Monty and your family.  Sucks when the puppies are sick and can't tell you what's wrong.  Even when they're sick they still have nothing but pure love in their eyes.

Thanks Ky...he's doing good...has a big incision on his tummy for the next two weeks...but this little guy bounced back pretty quick!! He has about 20 staples going on but damn he's a trooper...  :)

And no, honestly, I have never heard of a white Scottie...but they are pretty dogs in black....in white I bet Sasha is a beauty!! Give them a wooff from our two...to say thanks!! Monty is black and white...Maggie is a blonde bombshell...both Shih Tzus...neither the sharpest knives in the drawer but our little babies none the less!!  ;D

Thanks again for the post...

LaQuinta, How is Monty doing today? It is truly amazing how dogs bounce back so fast, like nothing ever happened.
I never have troubles with meds with my boys. Damn labs eat everything. :D :D :D I usually bury it in a piece of cheese or surround it with cream cheese. Or anything for that matter. :P :D :D :D

We put the meds in peanut butter and slather it to the roof of the dogs mouth.

We call it - Tongue Exercising...
