If any of you have a moment....in this really crappy time...my little boy dog has to have surgery at 10:30 tomorrow morning. just wondered if you could spare a moment to think about him. I know paople have a lot worse things in life to think about right now...just a wish that you may help us out with a little prayer...he's only 6 years old. Just a baby to us...
Tracy and Bob
You got it. We will keep him in our prayers.
Tracy,
Good thoughts coming Monty's way. I'm sure that everything will go fine with his surgery tomorrow morning & he will be up & bouncing around in no time.
Deb
LQ, I don't have kids, just Dogs. I know how they become very important family members. But when I do my little prayer, his name would help. My thoughts are with the little guy.
Tracy and Bob.
I know and understand about your 4 legged friend being your baby and a family , my prayers are with you and youre boy he is a big part of your family just like my big girl was back when she had her surgery to remove cancer in her spleen over two years ago, I will pray for his fast recovery and a long life as well as for you and bob
Dale
You have our prayers, LaQuinta!!! Scott and I lost our "baby" last month at the age of 2 due to kidney disease. Like you, our four legged members of the family are our "children".
Please let us know how everything goes with the surgery.

That is way cool!
Hi my friends...our little boy got out of surgery about an hour and a half ago. Long story as to why it took so long but he is awake and doing well!! Bob and I are amazingly relieved! Hopefully we can pick him up tomorrow!!
I really would like to take a heartfelt moment to express our sincere thanks to all of you for your kind words and thoughts. I absolutely know it helped our little boy get through his turmoil! As far as I am concerned...all of you people on here are just an extended amazing family of people who care about others. I, for one, and very proud to be a member of such a great group.
Thank You again!
T & B
That's great news LQ! :)
I'm glad you and the hubby will be able to rest peacefully tonight. Doesn't matter if the loved ones have 2 or 4 legs........we seem to worry just the same!
You made my night, Q!
SD
So cool LQ. You know it's always hardest on the Mom. It doesn't matter if they are 4 legged. So glad he is doing well.
Deb
My 2 girls {Mona and Lisa, both elderly Pekingnese] are wagging their little wanabee tails in glee!!
Just a short follow up...I printed this post and gave it to my husband to read...he started to cry. His only response was, "There are so many good people in this world, God Bless Them."
I know it's just a "little dog" but we have been deeply touched by your caring posts.
Ok...enough...time for the teabag to start swingin...!!!
Dang LQ, you were sweet for awhile.........Look Out SD, (oh nevermind just Duck)! ;D
C
But you, my friend, remain my biggest challenge...the teabag has lured you...but not taken over your cognizant state...I will continue my pilgrimidge to bring you into the light...to pull you out of Mesquite purgatorya... ;D
Just saw the post LQ. Glad everything turned out. Best wishes to Monty and you guys.
Pat and Ann.
Great to hear LQ,
Now that Monty is on the mend, we must celebrate. Might I suggest December 27th at your house and everyone is invited.
Oh wait, we are already doing that..... ;D 8)
Yeah...we are doing that!!! He might have that stupid cone thing on his head...but what the hell!! Seems like I'm finally feeling human again.
Glad Monty and you are ok LQ (http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Happy/happy-047.gif)

Hey LQ, so glad to here that Monty is doing well.
Now it's time for you to take a deep breath and relax. ;)
Glad to hear Monty's okay. Do you think dogs that have those cone things can actually pull in HBO? Let me know.
LQ,
That's great news.
We are so glad to hear that Monty is doing ok! BEWARE the cone! I was goosed many a time by a Doberman with an attitude when he had to wear one of those post-surgery!
Seriously, LaQuinta, they are not just dogs: they are part of the family.
Keep us posted on Monty's progress, ok?
laq
glad the surgery is over and your lil guy is recovering .. may he be around for many more years
Thanks everyone...he is snoring on the couch as I type...pretty dopey boy...but he's home and Bob and I are happy! Once again...I have no way to express how much your collective support has shored us up!!!
So cool LQ, glad that he is home :)!
I tell you this. Easy way to find out who man's best friend really is: Put the wife and the dog in the trunk of a car. Come back in an hour and see who is really glad to see you. That'll tell you who man's best friend truly is ;D
Seriously, though, Steeler says to give Monty a high paw!
Sd
Methinks there's a little doggy gonna get some smoked treats... ;D
Giggles...you never cease to amaze me... :D
JNB...that is one scary face you got goin on!!! Thank you for your post. Actually we don't feed the pups anything but doggie food...maybe that's why he got sick? :-[ Should have given him a slice of Habs CB? ;D
I'm just glad he is home.
Great news LQ! 8)
I'm really glad you guys have Monty back home where he belongs! ;)
Mike
Glad to hear the little one is OK, I think I feel worse than than my Casper when he has anything major done.
Thanks Carnie...it was major doggie surgery...but he is in snoooozzze mode. Hell hubby had open heart surgery...we both think it feels the same!!! But...all is good...we are happy campers...Monty... not so much.... for a couple of days...but...ya gotta love your kids!!
Thanks for the post!
Most excellent LQ.....give Monty that mesquite smoked bone! ;D
C
Ya know what WTS...I would if I had one...thanks for making me smile/laugh!! :)
They ask so little and give so much. Glad it worked out.
LQ,
glad to hear the good news (sorry for the slow response) i don't get much of a chance to check in.
hope all is going well with monty.
bailey the wonderdog sends woof-n-wag.
He's Mr Perky now...but shoving those pills down his throat is TRULY a chore...I'm sure it's easier with big dogs...it must be...he is Mr. Lockjaw....then the entire wait...until he spits it out and ya have to start over with Mr. Lockjaw...it sucks... ???

Great to hear that he is feeling better.
Greenies has a pill pocket for dogs & cats. It's like a soft treat that has a hole in it. You put the pill in the squeeze the treat around the pill. I have a cat that has to take thyroid medication daily, I'm not sure what we would do if we hadn't found the pill pockets. Here is a link to them http://www.amazon.com/Greenies-Pill-Pockets-Beef-Capsules/dp/B000QSON4K/ref=pd_bxgy_k_img_c
Thanks Deb...really...if he may have to be on antibiotics for 6 mos to 2 years...( ???)...this could save us a lot of agrirvation. Kool...thank you. Who knew? Neither one of our dogs has ever been sick a day in their lives before this...
T.
LQ,
I'm late on this but I told my two Scotties about Monty and how he was sick and needed their support. You've got double Scottie dogs looking out after Monty. Sabastian's black and Sasha is white(ever seen a white Scottie? not a Westie) They both have Monty's back. He is in the best of hands, uh paws.
Continued best thoughts for Monty and your family. Sucks when the puppies are sick and can't tell you what's wrong. Even when they're sick they still have nothing but pure love in their eyes.
KyNola
Thanks Ky...he's doing good...has a big incision on his tummy for the next two weeks...but this little guy bounced back pretty quick!! He has about 20 staples going on but damn he's a trooper... :)
And no, honestly, I have never heard of a white Scottie...but they are pretty dogs in black....in white I bet Sasha is a beauty!! Give them a wooff from our two...to say thanks!! Monty is black and white...Maggie is a blonde bombshell...both Shih Tzus...neither the sharpest knives in the drawer but our little babies none the less!! ;D
Thanks again for the post...
Tracy
Hey Deb...got those pill pockets today...SWEET...pills went down in a heartbeat...thanks for the tip... :) For anybody else who may have the doggie pill psychosis as we have...these things are great!!
LaQuinta, How is Monty doing today? It is truly amazing how dogs bounce back so fast, like nothing ever happened.
I never have troubles with meds with my boys. Damn labs eat everything. :D :D :D I usually bury it in a piece of cheese or surround it with cream cheese. Or anything for that matter. :P :D :D :D
Hey HCT...he's doing fine...has about 20 staples in his little tummy and haven't had to cone-head him yet. He's a good boy...He gets up and plays for 15 minutes...the sleeps for four hours!!
Thanks for asking! :)
Sounds like Monty and I have a lot in common....... ;D
Really glad he's doing well, Q.
Marc
Yeah but you'd have to be cone-headed Giggles!!! :D
How do you know I'm not> The wife runs a pretty tight ship :o
Sorry Giggles...was tryin to give you the benefit of the doubt... ;D
Thanks for the post my friend...I'll make sure at the smoke out we take some photos of our little boy... :)
We put the meds in peanut butter and slather it to the roof of the dogs mouth.
We call it - Tongue Exercising...
