Title: Duckling Orange Sauce inclued
Post by: Scotty-G on December 23, 2008, 09:35:27 PM
Christmas tradition in my family is to make Peking Duck for X-mas Eve dinner.
Preparation begins the night before.  Just finishe the "prep" part and included in the ducklings that were hunted in the freezer section of the local grocery store was (as is typical) a pouch of Orange Sauce.
Question to everyone/anyone -

Have you ever made anything with this sauce pack besides orange duck?
Anyone use it on chicken wings?  In jerky? with Turkey or Pork?
Looking for recipes and ideas.  Sorry but I've already tried using it as dipping sauce for fired egg rolls.

Thanks and MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

No help from me Scotty, sorry.
Only duck I have done is many years back in a bullet smoker where I wrapped the brests in bacon, smoked then grilled.  They were fresh from the wild.  Or should I say free range ducks but actually they were "in range" ducks.   ;D

I can't help you either, I've always just throw that package away. Don't ask why, because I don't know. And besides at this point I'm functioning on only a couple broken hours of sleep. :'(

Nice setting Scotty,

Hope you noticed your fork and spoon got caught in the diswasher and the handles are twisted.  ;)

I like the styling on them.

Now, TWO glasses of Bubbly?  Oh yah, one for each hand but ..... then,, ...... how do you get the duck in the mouth?  Oh no, one for each hand and .....   ah, well .....   ;D

Actually - had the in-laws over too
Cooked 2 ducks - Donald and Daisy were their names this year
And each "couple" shared a half a duck

The bubbly is actually a Gewurst - I think it complements the duck well
