Title: Curry Ketchup
Post by: Tenpoint5 on January 02, 2009, 12:08:33 PM
I spent 6 1/2 years in Germany and had this on many a Brat and Fry's from the corner Kiosk. Took me 14 years to find the recipe to make it myself. Figured I would share for any other folks that was Jonezen for it. Especially since I mentioned it!

Curry Ketchup

1 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Dry Mustard
2 Tbsp Vinegar
Mix all together and place over Brat or sausage, shake curry powder liberally over the top.

Goes good on top of meatloaf without the curry as well during the last 15 minutes of the cook.

Me too.  Sounds awesome!  10.5, when you were in Germany, did you have a currywurst?  There are a couple German restaurants in the area that serve these.  They are really good!!  The sauce that goes on the sausage sounds like it could be the same as your ketchup.
