Title: Beef Ribs and Corn
Post by: cowgirl on January 12, 2009, 08:22:19 AM
Please move or delete this if needed. I'm not sure where it belongs...this is my first thread.

I smoked a few beef ribs and bacon wrapped corn for friends the other day....used a simple seasoning on the ribs...olive oil, cracked black pepper and kosher salt.

I seasoned the corn with cracked black pepper and wrapped in bacon.

I let the ribs smoke for about 2 hours before adding the corn. Used a bit of hickory...

The ribs smoked for about 4 1/2 hours..until the meat pulled back from the bone an inch or more...

The beef ribs, bacon wrapped corn, fruit and broccoli...

Man, those dino bones look good.  You are now making me hit myself aside the head.  Was at the store last night and they finally got beef ribs in, but didn't have enough room in freezer to get any.

Cowgirl,

You've put it in the perfect place.  Those beef ribs look awesome!  I also like the corn.  Never done corn on the smoker and now I've got to give this a try.  Corn and brocolli are my two favorite vegetables.

Well done!

Cowgirl,

This is not the proper place to post this..., the proper place would have been on my kitchen table ;).  That looks like an awesome meal.  Nice job!!!

Welcome to the forum, and please keep the photos coming of your smoking endeavours.

Thank you Sherlock! The beef ribs do not have much meat, but they are pretty tender.
I used my extra smoked corn to make corn cakes.  :)

Gee cowgirl, you seem to have found something I have never tried, bacon wrapped corn.  I have never used bacon in corn before either.  Green Chilies, yes, bacon - never gave it a thought.  I could ask how did you like it but I am sure as with anything, bacon goes with everything.   :D

Bacon wrapped corn - I think the Brethren have influenced you!  or maybe you just resemble the last line of the Bradley Pledge

"We pledge, under the penalty of having our Bradley melt into nothingness, never to tell our OR especially anyone else's adoring and admiring family and friends, the SECRET (the ease) of Bradley Smoking.  We further Pledge to use our Bradleys as often as possible so as to never let our family and friends be without smoked delicacies.  There are just some things that should not be smoked and until we find out what they are, we Pledge to smoke everything we can catch, wrap in bacon, and fit into our Bradleys."
