Title: I'm so over this weather
Post by: Oldman on March 01, 2009, 07:38:50 AM
Yesterday a clear great day around 78F. Today rainy and cold enough to see your breath.  The weather this month reminds me of one of my ex-wives. She never could make up her mind.

Well, we had 65 degrees and sunny Friday with 8-14 inches of snow expected tonight! I did manage to get a brisket done in between.  ;D

Rain yesterday here in NW Florida.  Mid 30's this am and wind gusts to 30+.

Smokinrookie - Where in N GA are you?  I lived in Miami until I finished elementary school, then lived in Elberton, GA until I joined the military at 18.  Been in NW FL since 1979.

I still have family left in GA.

My field is all ice caused by the warm weather melting. The boys have to tread carefully to do their business. :o  Now tonight they forecast 6 to 18 inches. ::) So what is it? 6 or 18 inches. Talk about covering your butt. :D :D :D

For some reason they haven't wanted to predict this storm.   Earlier in the week they were saying we are going to get a storm but that they had no idea how bad it was going to be....  I don't think I have ever heard them admit that they might not know.    We are only supposed to get 6 to 10 down here Mike,  must mean that you are getting 10 to 18 ;D     It's been spitting all day but hasn't accumulated at all (yet).

I don't even want to talk about weather right now. I'm stuck in camp at Prudhoe Bay in a white out! No one allowed to travel and drifted in.    :(

Guess I'm the only loonie toon that still wants four more feet of snow this month! Went out yesterday and it was pretty ugly, brush-wise...not impossible but not much fun getting around, PLUS too much cover for the birds with so much brush showing..... :'(

4:30 a.m. when I looked outside, about 4-5" and windy. My field still has an inch of ice under it. The boys are gonna love this, until they find out they can't stop. :o :o :D :D :D

Took the Midget out today... about 65F, but now it is closer to 58F. By this weekend the "Pros" are saying 80F.   Works for me...  ;D

Kummok,

You're not the only one.  Mamma and I bought new sleds last year, and we're hoping to put a few more miles on them this year.  Everyone can send the snow that they don't want my way.  It's about 15F here right now, and my venison snack sticks don't seem to mind, although I do hope they reach their IT of 160 before it's time for me to go to sleep.

Send me your unwanted snow!!!

Jeff

Raye, the weather here in Cal is not so cold, but wet. Thinking of a top down drive on a country road sure does bring back some very fond memories of my MG Jag days. Enjoy!  ;D

Ahhhh... not here Raye. It's -30 this morning with the windchill!  :o

Mind you it's a nice steady 70 degrees in the garage with 22 lbs of jerky going!  :D

We went from 8" of snow 3-4 days ago to 8" of mud today.(a little exaggeration). It's too hot here, give me the cold weather. Gots to clean 20 paws after everyone's outing. :o :o Labs, ya better love 'em. :D :D :D

Almost there!  :D

I used to ride but haven't for a number of years although my son has been for a number of years. He works out of town so I... of course "store" his bike for him! It's a new M109 and a real blast to take for a cruise after work. Unfortunately at -30 it won't be for a day or two but I did fire it up this morning.  :D

this is my second harley in 4 years.
had a 2005 road king custom first. put 23000 miles on it in under 2 years so i decided to upgrade to the 2007 street glide.
it has a radio which is very important. i rode the roadking to west virginia with the smurf song stuck in my head....
that's a 9 hour trip. :P :P :P :P >:(
