Title: Pet food bank opening, she did it!!!
Post by: HCT on March 13, 2009, 12:16:41 PM
Some great news in this crazy world.
My daughter, has been looking into getting a pet food bank started, here in Northwest Connecticut, for a few weeks now. She has finally succeeded and it should be under way within a couple of weeks. Lot's of work and legal issues but it's all under control. Hopefully, this will help some people in need feed their dogs and cats instead of giving them up to the shelters.
Yuppers, one proud daddy. ;D ;D ;D

Glad to see your daughter got this together. I'm sure it will help many keep their pets, or encourages others to adopt pets that can't be taken with the owner when they have to move to a place that restricts pets.

And you should be very proud!  You tell her that I thank her for what she's doing.......what a wonderful and selfless thing to do.

Thanks folks for your great replies.

Duck, we speak to each other often and always come to the same agreement, we have to come together with each other if we're going to get through this depression. We all need each other and we have to help each other in any way possible. I'm not great with writing words but you know what I'm saying. ;) :)

You give that daughter a big hug from me and Ann HCT. We really appreciate the hard work. Means a lot to us to see folks doing great things for the critters.  ;)

That's Great News HCT !!! Is she considered a Non-Profit Organization? Has she applied for any grants and/or donations from the big food retailers? If she is Non-Profit but hasn't wrote any grant applications send me a PM. I would be more than willing to help her write some. I do it for our school PTO in my spare time.

10.5, thanks I passed your offer on to my daughter. Right now she is working with our local rescue getting everything set up. Hopefully by the end of the week she will be good to go. My daughter is also working with our vet and a pet food bank in Massachusetts to get the banks set up to serve the tri-state area. Ct, Mass and N.Y.. If and when that happens she will need your assistance. She said she will send you a PM as soon as she knows. Thanks again.
Mike
