Title: Sausage Supplies in Canada
Post by: Mr Walleye on March 22, 2009, 12:27:39 PM
I know a number of members from Canada have had a hard time locating suppliers in Canada. Anyway, I had some time this morning and did some searching. I thought I would post my findings for everybody...

Walleyes, how come there is only one supplier on the list that actually gives prices? I tried JBs,made out the order and then they gave me theprices which were way higher than where I normally deal so I had say sorry but no thanks. I just like to know the prices online before I start. Actually I have mainly dealt with Halfords as they are close and reasonable. Thks for listening Dave

I agree Piker, it's like anything else... ya gotta watch. I buy a fair bit of stuff from JB's because I'm n Regina a fair bit on business. I mainly posted this because from time to time there are people here in Canada that can't find things like cure, etc.

On a side note, when I was searching I sent Atlas Cutlery (Halfords) an email to request a catalogue and they have already responded and indicated it will be out tomorrow.

Mike,

Quick note:

Malabar spice is great for most stuff but you have to buy in ridculous bulk for some stuff. s
                   Been there, done that.

And there starter culture...umm...how do you say "It SUCKS" in a diplomatic way?

I am no stranger to handling cutures.  New to smoking, but with 20 or so years brewing under my belt I can find my may around an active yeast cuture or ....  not so active one...

I have done business with www.stuffers.com for almost 20 years.
They are "the sausage making people" here in British Columbia.

I have done business with stuffers before reasonable prices and excellent recipes. They are my go to place after Halfords.

Oh great!  Now there goes another ream of paper when I print out these recipes.  Maybe the boss won't notice.  Oh and gotta go get another binder to hold them.  I can't wait to get my sausage start!

I've dealt with JB's several times and they have great customer service. Not sure about the prices, I just get what I need since there are no sausage companies around in Ontario.

Supply and demand right! ::)
