I thought some of you people would enjoy watching these videos.
Wow!
Subject: Pitching deck F-18 night landings
These videos show the ultimate difference between Naval Aviation and any other kind.
Here are two absolutely outstanding videos about F-18 carrier operations aboard the USS Nimitz during weather that causes a severely pitching deck, which you can see in the videos. It's more dangerous than most combat missions and the tension in the pilots and crew is very apparent.
Watch part 1 first.

Thanks for sharing. That was awesome. ;)
It was awesome. Thanks.
When i lived in Calif i worked on the FA/18. Way back Northrop made these for the Navy and were called F17. The Navy didn't buy them because the gear didn't hold up so Northrop moth balled the 2 planes and Douglas stole the drawings. Needless to say after big law suits it's now called Douglas/Northrop FA/18. Back when they were F17 they were painted gray/blue camo.
My wife spent a week on the USS Constellation watching the flight ops on the FA/18. Pretty cool. I worked for Northrop for 21 yrs

pretty good Mike even the boys liked watching it.
I've always been amazed with carrier landings, My cousin is a retired air force bgen and he said those ships look like a postage stamp from the air. I've always wondered what the tailhooks are made of and how they are attached cause they must take an awful lot of stress.
