Title: Rookie from Connecticut
Post by: quinnscorner on May 09, 2009, 08:11:48 AM
Hello
I am new and this is the first time I have posted. I am eager to learn any ticks of cooking on the Bradley digital you may be willing to share. I want to try smoked salmon but my husband has his sights set on beef jerky and ribs and I am in the learning curve. I welcome any and all suggestions. Do I use rubs? marinades? or just put the food in there? Do veggies work in the smoker?

Welcome Quinnscorner!

I'm from CT also.  I'm in Wolcott, where are you from?

A good place to start reading is the faqs from the recipe site http://www.susanminor.org/forums/showthread.php?t=481

Also a link to the index of the recipe site (recipes compiled from forum members)  http://www.susanminor.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=180

There are lot's of good people here willing to share & help.  No question is a stupid one.

I use rubs, brines & marinades depending on what I am doing.  Veggies do work in the smoker.  I recently smoked some peppers, onions & garlic to use in chili.

It's all kind of overwhelming at first so don't be afraid to ask questions & someone will point you in the right direction :)

Deb
