There are several around.  Do you have a specific question to field of enquiry?

yes,  Im trying to find a kit or schematic to make a bi-directional PWM speed controller for my 30 lb. thrust trolling motor and would like some advice.

Are you wanting to build your own PWM circuit or buy one and connect it to the trolling motor?

Thanks for the replys Gizmo,  I would like to get a kit that I could adapt to the  trolling motor.  The motor has load dropping resistor in the motor  case that runns in the water.  My hope is that I can remove them and install the kit in their place. This should help cool the controller components.  I would then have the potentiometer in a box to control the speed.  It should extend the run time conciderably.

I was able to do a search on controllers and found quite a few out there depending on what you are doing and the current handling capacity you need.  I would suggest getting the scematics on the trolling motor to see if the PWM can be inserted into the circuit, but it sounds like you may be there already.  There are few other folks here that are much more knowledgable in ET than I.  I have been out of the nitty gritty for many years.  I would also suggest checking out some of the fishing boards to see if there are any folks out there that have already been down that path.  I suspect you alreadly checked on the price of a new or used trolling motor with PWM to make sure it wasn't a better route.  ;D

Thanks Gizmo, Thats a good idea about the fishing boards. I'll give them a try.  I have done quite a bit of looking, but still have some questions. Going to call one kit maker and talk to them to.       Dick
