Ohhh not so fast grasshopper ;D
Need more responces.
Santa is going to bring me (us) a trip "outside" to see friends and family over Christmas and New Years. We will visit fam in Washington and travel to Montana and South Dakota and then down to Oklahoma and Texas. Should be fun!
A wheeled garbage can, 50# bag of kitty litter, and a 30# bag of meow mix. If I decide he can afford it, he'll bring the kitties a Cabela's 80L dehydrator and cart.
Been asking begging him for months for a pellet-pooper. He just ::) and shakes his head NO! Must have been a bad boy this year. So I've decided a couple high temp screens from Yard & Pool would be good. (Kind of scared to ask though. :D)
Santa keeps asking for my Christmas list but I haven't given it up yet. It's not totally food related (which is not the norm)
If I was really, really good this year I will get a new kayak (Santa's accountant is feeling poor with the kid in college and might/probably slash this off the list)
a paddle jacket so I can go out earlier and later in the year
a temperature controller for my drying cabinet/cheese cave (still to be built, I'm gathering parts)
Santa was asking weird questions about my Kitchen Aid mixer, wattage, etc seems he had been thinking about buying me a new one but I have a 6qt pro so he figured out that I have the largest one they make. I don't know if he'll figure out that there are other brands.....which are also a whole other level of price and power :D
Rick, I think I already know what you got ;D Weren't you teasing Dustin the other day?
Santa found me a nice deal on a gently used Lil' Tex...
But I might have the Easter Bunny hopping around on my grill patio before I get it. ;)
Probably the same as last year COAL!!!!
Just finishing off a renovation/addition and my tv room is almost ready for equipment, sooo Santa is bringing me hd tv, PS3, PSB speakers and all the other necessary goodies. Gotta love Santa.
T2
Probably licorice whips. I was hoping for another trailer mounted stickburner, or like Deb, a fishing kayak, but with my daughter buying her first house and just finding out my wife's job shutting down sometime soon, the big gifts won't be going around. Walked through Williams - Sonoma the other day, and found some stuff including some knives I'd love to have. But probably just ask ask for some CF cards for my camera, and a ballhead for my tripod. Then there's the desirable fly fishing gear, CS4, the PID, the Kalinsky watercolor brushes, the Fein Multi-tool, the wood carving chisels, the 600mm nikor lens, the power engraver...................................

Caney,
Wilderness Systems just came out with a new fishing hybrid kayak. Looks like a cross between a kayak & a canoe. A little pricey but their products are good. I like the ultralight pungos - 12 footer at 39 lbs. Makes it a little easier for me to handle. No fishing will be done in mine, except for maybe fishing the dog out of the water :D She is getting a pfd & a floating leash for Christmas ;D
Hope things get better in the job end (for everyone).

Deb,
I particularly like their Tarpon 12 (we used to sell thej, but their rep around here wasn't so good so we dropped them), but have not seen a Commander yet. I'm wondering if it will be something like a Nucanoe? For stability for fishing I also like the Kiwi Angler - sort of a double pontoon kayay - wholesaler/dealer lives just down the street from me and will give me a good deal especially since I sometimes work in a fly shop. Also would like to try the Trifly with it's retractable pontoons - but pricey - and our competition just picked up the dealership. Probably settle for a Native Manta Ray 12 - I can get a pro deal on them since we sell them at the fly shop! ;D ;D Deep discounts talk! But still not in the budget with current economic concerns, so will stick with my kickboat or personal pontoon. I'm going to mount a small trolling motor on it next season - should be able to go just about anywhere I want in it then - without heavy duty distance paddling upstream - to refloat a particularly good section of the river.
Is that soon?

Carolyn has inspired me..
HOBART ANYTHING
I'll make it fit! :D
I wanted a new truck, but instead got a battery for my old one.
Hey Squirt...
(KyNola might remember the "Cape Codder")
We had a Hobart chopper/mixer thingie..
TOTAL BEAST. You could make cole slaw outta tire irons with that thing.
And it wouldn't even grunt.
That kind of reminds me of the movie "Fargo" :D
If I had thought of Fargo...
It would have been a much more entertaining post ;-)

Caney and Deb re the Kayaks: I have been looking at the Hobie Revolution for a fishing kayak. I especially like the peddle drive for trolling. I tried one out this summer but didn't buy one as I knew I was too busy this year to use it. I'd love to get a Nantucket sleigh ride behind a nice big halibut so I'll be looking at them in the spring.

T2 - that looks great. I'm looking at the Wilderness Systems Pungo because of the large open cockpit. I want to bring the dog kayaking with me and she doesn't fit in the kayak I have now. I just do rec kayaking (no fishing) but am hoping to eventually get to the ocean and paddle around the shore & islands (without the dog).
T2, I really like the Mirage Pro Angler - tried one out about a year ago down in Florida. And if I had open water, one would be on the short list - but don't have a Hodie dealer that has kayaks around here. I've seen some Hobies fitted out into some serious fishing machines. Most of my kayak fishing will be down rivers and the Mirage drive will get one heck of a beating on all the gravel bars and rocks. ;D If I had the bucks I'd like to have a Stream Dancer - powered and great for shallow water. I only wonder how it would do in moving water. For kicks, I'd love to have the Molokini from Clear Blue Hawaii. That would be a kick fishing from a transparent kayak!
I'm hoping for coal. Better than nothing. Maybe I can burn it in the fireplace.
Ok should i show what santa brought me now??????
:D :D :D :D

Oh heck no nepas. Maybe you can drag this out another day or two. ;D
Well the wife just took me to the doc's to get my Twinrix shots. She is taking me to Puerto Vallarta for Christmas. Since our no good for nothing kids ;) have not blessed us with Grand childern yet, heck they are not even married as if that makes a difference these day. Welll we told the three boys that until there is a Grand Child we will be leaving at Christmas from now on. Now all I have to do is figure out which fly rod to take down with me. ;D
Ross
NePaS,
A UPS sleigh powered by a tractor trailer rig rolled into Paducah yesterday with a 225 pound present for me. I think I'm done!
So OK NePaS, show us what you got!

When you and your spouse can get away and be together, that better than any material gift one could receive. You will get gradnkids one of these days ;D The good thing about them is you can always send them home :D :D

You will keep me posted on your Mak?

SO THERE NOW :D

Nice wheels, Nepas!
I had a 'Santa moment' like that a few years ago in early December...
Wife said to treat myself, so I did. (it's almost paid for now ;))
I knew it was a jeep....... I win the pot!!!!!!!!!!
Nice going nepas, congrats
Way nice Nepas!
You must have been real good this year.
Enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOWSER
When I grow up I want to be a NePas. Are you adopting right now?
Nice wheels.
I am hoping for some dried out freezer burnt brisket for Christmas. Maybe I can use some spent pucks to make a gravy for it !
Actually all kidding aside, I think we need a vacation and that will be our Christmas present. Too many deaths in the family this year, too much turmoil, just too much unpleasantries is a good way to put it. I think we will do this before Christmas or maybe the week following New Years as the rates fall insanely.
Congrats my friend. Happy travels in that puppy. I used to have a 4 by 4 wasy back when and mad did I have fun in that baby !
Thanks guys. The Mrs says i was good this year.
If you dont have some sort of all wheel drive or 4wd you aint getting up and down our road when it snows.
My Nissan was good to me, hope its just as good for my daughter, Mrs has her Subaru and i got the Wrangler ;D

Wish my boys could be here to go hunt with me and for the holidays.

Your boys and your daughter are taking care of business so the rest of us can enjoy our liberties. I know it must be tough on you and Mrs. NePaS.
BTW, I will definitely be keeping you updated on the MAK. I haven't been able to get it out of the crate yet but Ive sure been poking around in the crate and reading the owner's manual. Your buddy Bruce is right about the digital controller. If it will do half what the owner's manual says it will do and if I'm smart enough to figure it out WOW!
KyNola
You Dawwwwwwwwwwg!!!
Now THAT's a Christmas present!!!!
Keep the shiny side up!
My wife was also receptive to the "new wheels" idea --- uhhhh... so she got her some!

The biggest I have is an 8wt. Think that is good enough or shoul dI invest in something with a little more backbone?
Talked earlier in the year to a guy who had been there - he was a corporate pilot on business down there. Fishing in P.V. usually consists of Deep Sea trolling or bottom fishing for the big stuff (sailfish, marlin, tuna, dorado) with some beach and jetty fishing. You might find some small boats that will do the fly, or maybe rent a panga and its operator to take you around. I've heard that it is possible to catch roosterfish, barracuda, rays, etc... from the beach or the jetties - but lots of people, rocks and big waves to deal with. Nuevo Vallarta supposedly has a big breakwater/jetty that can be good, but the river mouth there would be the best bet. I wouldn't take anything less than the 8wt and plenty of backing. Wouldn't be too good for a big roosterfish, 'cuda, or Jack Crevalle. As long as it is pretty fast (to beat the wind), it would be good tossing deceiver, surf candy, poppers and the like off the beach or the jetties. For the big game stuff - 12 wt would be needed at least. Boat operators would normally have these. There is supposedly a freshwater lake near that has some big bass in it. The 8wt would be good for that.

Thx. You do that for me. I mean it.
I'm a freedom and liberty loving patriot.
I get in trouble for saying it sometimes, but I say it anyway.
Sometimes, I even mention "God, Country and Apple pie".
Funny thing is - I never did really like apple pie.
But, I do love my country, and I hope God brings all your kids home safe.
