Post by: smokeNcanuck on January 19, 2010, 04:51:19 PM
I received my Maverick Et-73 today and their is a two deg. difference between the two probes.  Is this normal
or even acceptable or is something wrong?   Appreciate any thoughts, Thanks sNc

I would think 2* is cool.   Probably +/- 5* is acceptable.

I have never measured mine against each other.

If you look at the probes, they are two different kind of tips.

I also received my maverick today and experienced the exact temperature difference I feel better that you had the same reading. The longer I let it sit, it got down to 1* difference. I'm pretty content with that!

Ya, don't think two or three degs. will make a big difference.  Weird though!

I bought another food probe from the maverick guys and the two food probes are exactly the same. I feel pretty good about that but two deg different wouldnt be a big deal to me.
