Title: 2nd Heating Element In!
Post by: bundy on May 13, 2010, 02:58:27 AM
I want to thank the whole forum for the advise , pics, and instructions on this mod. Put 2 new elements in last night (saved old for spare) on my BDS and WOW! 55* to 210* in 12 minutes.
Thanks again you all!

Just be careful with it and you will enjoy the recovery time.

Don't do what I did..............pinched a wire, it broke off and hit the side of my Bradley.
I know have a hole the size of a large pea on the indise wall of my smoker. ::)

Then I shorted everthing out and even blew a fuse in my PID.
Lesson learned ;)

Lumpy, with your luck, don't go outside holding up a golf club during the next T'Storm, OK?

Today I am doing my first smoke after adding the 2nd element.  30# pork butts.  The temp recovery is nothing short of amazing.
