Thanks all.
I just got back home yesterday afternoon. Mom got to see all 6 of us kids one last time at Christmas along with some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren at the hospital. She eventually elected to stop any further treatment and was moved to a hospice facility. She passed away on January 7.

Rick, So sorry, to here about he news. However, it seems that she got her wish of seeing all of you. I know she had to be happy about that! I know it is little consolation, but at least she is in a place she doesn't have to deal with that disease anymore. Prayers for you and your family will be included.

Although not a joyous occassion and in a lot of discomfort, by having everyone show up (in small groups), she was able to express her final farewells which was a comfort in itself.
Rick, my heartfelt sympathy and prayers for peace and comfort go out to you and your family. I know the loss is difficult and painful. Hopefully you can find some comfort in the memories of better times and a Christmas where all of you were able to be together again.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I have lived through tragedy during the holidays and can say that they have never been the same since. Though I have to remind myself through the faith of God what the holiday's are all about and it gets me through them! God bless to you and your family!
