Title: Smoked Egg Quesiton?!?!?
Post by: wkahler on January 26, 2011, 11:39:14 AM
This might seem little of kilter but can you vacuum seal smoked eggs after they have been smoked and then freeze them???  Just was planning a smoke here but not sure about pickling them right away.  Also just a hint i took the last batch of smoked eggs with all the stuff and drained it and then put the ingredients in my slap chopper and chopped all of it up and added some majo and made some killer egg salad!!!  Sure its been done on here before but it was good with the onions and all the other good flavors!

Seems like you should be able to freeze them without any problem, particularly if you are going to just chop them up. My vac has a control that lets you guage the amount of vacuum you need so you wouldn't squish the egg. Smoked egg salad sounds kinda tasty.

Yeah i can shut it down once it gets to a certain point on the sealing process.  Just was not sure if that would alter the taste of the eggs once they where thawed out, guessing no but figured I'd through it out there!!
