Title: Cleaned my BD6R...Pucks Wouldn't Feed.
Post by: LumpyDVC on March 23, 2011, 01:48:47 PM
Hey All,

Took my Digital 6 feeder unit apart today.

My last smoke was pistachio's and they only got 20 minutes
of smoke. The feeder unit had failed.

I thought it was because it was -22c outside that day that
caused it to "jam".

I went to do some jerky this afternoon. It's a much warmer
-5c out. Unit wouldn't feed.

So a quick search here on the forums and I was off to take
her apart.

8 screws on the bottom, 4 inside the unit.

I had it looking like new. Jerky is smoking away as I type and
pucks are feeding fine.

So if you ever experience this problem, don't be afraid to open
your unit and give it a good clean. I'm going to start cleaning it
twice a year as regular maintenance.

That was my excitement for today... Now back to tiling the
bathroom floor. ;-)

I disassemble my SG at least 2x a year. Only problem that I have had was the micro switch needed adjusting.

I didn't see the micro switch, but then again I wasn't looking for it.

I just wanted to clean it and get smokin'.
